What is a financial operating system for businesses, and how does LUCA work?
LUCA is your company's financial operating system: a platform that brings everything that touches money (sales, expenses, invoices, bank accounts and credit) into one place and puts AI agents to work on that data. It is built for businesses and self-employed professionals with business activity in Mexico and the United States. The agents analyze, propose and prepare tasks; the responsible person approves, and nothing moves without their authorization.
What problem does a financial operating system solve?
In most companies, financial information lives in several places that don't talk to each other: online banking, the tax authority's portal (SAT, in Mexico), payment platforms, the online store, spreadsheets and messages with the accountant. When the owner or finance lead needs to know how much cash there is, who owes what, or whether there's enough for payroll, someone has to gather and cross-check that information by hand.
As a result, the numbers arrive late and scattered, and decisions are made with incomplete information. A financial operating system connects those sources, organizes them and keeps them up to date so the information is there when it's time to decide.
How does LUCA work, step by step?
LUCA works in three steps:
- Connect what you already use. Banks, sales and payment platforms, expenses, payroll, invoices and the connection to the SAT. You connect once and it stays connected. There's no need to switch banks or accountants.
- LUCA learns how your company operates. It organizes the numbers, matches invoices with collections and bank transactions, and keeps the context of your business: your industry, your clients and the way your team works.
- Decide faster, with data. With your information connected, you can ask in plain language how your company is doing, receive alerts and approve the actions the agents propose.
What do LUCA's agents do?
LUCA has four AI agents, each with a clear job:
- CFO: projects how the month will close before it ends.
- BI Master: turns the numbers into clear answers, without building spreadsheets.
- Treasurer: watches cash flow and gets payments ready on time.
- Credit Advisor: recommends how much credit makes sense for the business and handles the application together with the user.
The agents also review the numbers every day without being asked. Automated tasks include payment reminders to clients, pulling invoices from the SAT, tax deadline reminders and alerts when cash flow won't be enough. They also flag duplicate payments, past-due clients and unusual expenses. Every alert comes with a suggested action ready for the responsible person to approve.
What modules does LUCA include?
The platform is organized into four modules:
- LUCA AI: the conversational agent, the four agents, automations, cash flow projection and daily monitoring.
- Operations: CFDI 4.0 electronic invoicing connected to the SAT, automatic reconciliation, payment complements, accounts receivable and payable, suppliers, payroll matched against cash flow, and an accounting summary for the month-end close. It works alongside the company's current accountant.
- Wallet: peso and dollar accounts in one place, SPEI transfers, scheduled supplier and payroll payments, virtual cards, roles, approval limits and a transaction log.
- Credit: financing that starts from the numbers the company already has connected, with options such as factoring, purchase order financing, revolving credit, a corporate card and early payment to suppliers. Financing is provided by a financial institution and is subject to approval.
What tools does it connect to?
LUCA has more than 30 integrations, including payment and sales platforms such as Stripe, PayPal, Mercado Pago, Conekta, Clip, OpenPay, Shopify, Mercado Libre and Amazon, plus banks in Mexico and the United States, point-of-sale systems, accounting systems and the SAT.
You can also query LUCA's information from ChatGPT and Claude, so your team can ask about its numbers without leaving the tools it already uses.
Who is LUCA for?
LUCA is built for business owners and finance teams who need visibility into their money without spending hours gathering information. It is especially useful for companies that:
- Manage several bank accounts, partners and an outside accountant.
- Collect and pay through different channels and need to know what is reconciled and what is still pending.
- Want to know ahead of time whether cash flow will cover payroll or a large order.
- Operate with several legal entities or in both Mexico and the United States.
LUCA is configured for each company's industry. Today it has setups for car dealerships, e-commerce, marketing agencies, manufacturers, financial companies, accounting firms, real estate, restaurants, technology companies, construction companies, clinics and medical practices, among others.
What doesn't LUCA do?
To understand its scope, it also helps to know what LUCA does not do:
- It is not a personal finance app. It is designed for businesses and self-employed professionals with business activity.
- It doesn't make decisions for you. The agents propose; the authorized person approves. Everything is recorded and auditable.
- It doesn't replace your finance team or your accountant. It takes operational work off their plate so they can focus on analysis and strategy.
- It doesn't ask you to switch banks. It connects to the accounts and tools the company already uses.
- It doesn't guarantee credit. Any financing is provided by a financial institution and is subject to approval.
How is it different from uploading my files to an AI assistant?
A general-purpose AI assistant can help analyze a file, but each time you have to upload the information and explain the task from scratch. In LUCA, the agents work with the information the company has connected and authorized, and they keep the context of the business. That lets tasks repeat every day without anyone having to ask, and keeps the result tied to real operations: the invoice, the collection and the bank transaction.
